Akureyri
Situated on the Northern coast of Iceland 240 miles away from the capital Reykjavik. This is the northern most port and closest port to the edge of the Arcitc Circle just 37 miles away. Here the effects of almost 24 hours of daylight during the summer months are at there most prevalent. Iceland is the world's 18th largest island and Europe's second largest island after Great Britain. Polar bears occasionally visit the island, travelling on icebergs from Greenland and seabirds, are a very important part of Iceland's animal life where Puffins, skuas, and kittiwakes nest on its sea cliffs.
