Upon arrival at Baltra Airport, your naturalist guide will greet you and assist with the transfer to Itabaca Channel. This initial journey offers your first connection with the archipelago as you take a short ferry ride to Santa Cruz Island. Along the way, observe Baltra’s arid landscape and learn about its history as a former U.S. WWII airbase. In the afternoon embark on a pleasant journey into the verdant highlands, where a bus ride leads you through lush forested landscapes home to Galapagos Giant Tortoises. These impressive creatures, reaching up to 300 kg/600 lbs, can often be seen peacefully grazing or resting in freshwater ponds. The highlands are also home to a variety of bird species rarely found in the lowlands. Baltra Island (Galápagos)

Baltra (South Seymour) Island is a small flat island located near the centre of the Galápagos immediately adjacent to the larger Island of Santa Cruz. . Until 1986, Baltra Airport was the only airport serving the Galápagos. Now, there are two airports which receive flights from the continent, the other being located on San Cristóbal Island.

Start your morning on Isabela Island, embarking on a unique adventure at Tintoreras, a cluster of small isles teeming with wildlife. Sail through crystal-clear waters and discover a vibrant underwater world inhabited by white-tipped sharks, colorful tropical fish, and starfish. Continue excursing to Sierra Negra Volcano, one of the world's largest and most active craters. The hike will take you through lunar landscapes and breathtaking views, where you’ll learn about volcanic geology. In the afternoon, explore the wetlands of Isabela Island-a vital ecosystem for the biodiversity of Galapagos. Walk along trails surrounded by mangroves and saline lagoons where pink flamingos, blue-billed ducks, and other aquatic birds thrive. Continue to the Breeding Centre, where you’ll observe giant tortoises at different stages of life. This visit provides valuable insight into Galapagos’ conservation initiatives and the importance of preserving its fragile ecosystems.

Isabela Island (Galápagos)

Isabela (Albemarle) Island is the largest island of the Galápagos with an area of 1,792 square miles. Its highest point is Volcán Wolf at 5,600 ft. On this island, Galápagos penguins, flightless cormorants, marine iguanas, pelicans and Sally Lightfoot crabs abound. It is the only island to have the equator run through it. The main ports of call are Elizabeth Bay, Moreno Point, Urvina Bay & Tagus Cove. Vicente Roca Point is where the remnants of an old volcano have formed two turquoise coves and is rich in marine life - popular with divers and snorkelers.

Commence your day at the enchanted Moreno Point. The extensive lava fields may appear lifeless, but scattered brackish lagoons teeming with life, such as flamingos, gallinules, ducks, and herons lie within its borders. Along the coast, keep an eye out for penguins, marine iguanas, flightless cormorants, blue-footed boobies, sea lions, oystercatchers, and other shore birds. Dip into the refreshing water and explore a mesmerizing underwater world populated by sea turtles, cormorants, and a myriad of fish species. Look carefully within the long seaweeds; you might discover a charming sea horse. In the afternoon we venture into Elizabeth Bay, a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by towering mangroves and stark lava fields. We explore this natural wonder by dinghy for a chance to spot the rare Galapagos penguin. The bay is also a nesting site for flightless cormorants, while blue-footed boobies and pelicans dive for fish. Watch for graceful rays and sea turtles gliding through the clear waters.

This underwater sanctuary offers a unique experience, exploring the biodiversity thriving between the mangroves and coral reefs. Urbina Bay, known for its dramatic uplift during the 1950s, awaits your visit in the afternoon. Here, you can encounter land iguanas, giant tortoises and Galapagos hawks. Fernandina Island (Galápagos)

Fernandina Island is the youngest and westernmost island. Espinosa Point can be found here; a narrow stretch of land where hundreds of marine iguanas gather, largely on black lava rocks. The famous flightless cormorants inhabit this island, as do Galápagos penguins, pelicans, Galápagos sea lions and Galápagos fur seals.

Tagus Cove was once visited by Charles Darwin during his Galapagos exploration. Hike through dry Palo Santo forests, where Darwin’s finches and mockingbirds can be spotted. At the top, breathtaking views of Lake Darwin and Isabela’s towering volcanoes await. A boat tour along the shore provides a chance to see Galapagos penguins, flightless cormorants, marine iguanas, and the elusive and endangered Galapagos martin The nutrient-rich waters of Tagus Cove attract sea turtles, tropical fish, and penguins feasting on anchovies. Flightless cormorants can often be seen chasing fish underwater, creating a truly unique snorkeling experience. Espinoza Point is set at the base of the most active volcano in Galapagos. As you step ashore, you’ll be greeted by the largest colony of marine iguanas basking on black volcanic rocks. Sea lions lounge on the beach while their pups explore tide pools This area teems with life— herons, oystercatchers, pelicans, and sea turtles.

At Puerto Egas While there is no actual port,remnants of 1960s colonization still stand. The coastal trail is teeming with marine iguanas basking in the sun and sea lions resting on the rocks. Herons, oystercatchers, and shorebirds complete this thriving ecosystem. Towards the end of the trail, the grottos are home to a small colony of the elusive Galapagos fur seal. Additionally, land iguanas were reintroduced to the island in 2019 after over a century of absence. Espumilla Beach, is a stunning one-kilometre stretch of rusty-brown sand, Surrounded by mangroves and a dry forest, it hosts Galapagos hawks, finches, and mockingbirds. Then, at Buccaneer Cove, discover a historic pirate hideout from the 17th and 18th centuries. Towering cliffs and striking rock formations create a breathtaking landscape. Although there's no trail, a dinghy ride offers a unique chance to snorkel into a sheltered bay to swim among schools of angelfish and parrotfish,reef sharks,sea turtles,and sea lions.

Santiago Island (Galápagos)

Santiago Island (Puerto Egas, Rabida & Sullivan Bay) is one of the bigger islands of approximately 226 square miles and is home to Marine iguanas, sea lions, fur seals, land and sea turtles, flamingos, dolphins and sharks are also found here. Sullivan Bay is located on Santiago Island which has a narrow, steep-sided point of land, which provides an extraordinarily beautiful landscape complete with cliffs and pinnacles where hundreds of marine birds rest.

El Barranco is a wildlife sanctuary where fragile lava cliffs provide shelter for storm petrels and short-eared owls. Along the trail, red-footed and Nazca boobies nest on the volcanic rock. At the base of the cliffs, Galapagos fur seals rest in shaded areas, while seabirds soar above this breathtaking landscape. Snorkel into the waters of El Barranco and explore a vibrant underwater world. Swim among colorful fish and spot sharks, rays, and playful sea lions in their natural habitat. Darwin Bay is a breathtaking sight for birdwatchers where you’ll be amazed by the presence of hundreds of boobies, gulls, and frigatebirds soaring, nesting in bushes, or resting on the sand. Along the shore, sea lions and marine iguanas blend into the scenery, while inland you may spot night herons, swallow-tailed gulls, Darwin finches, Galapagos doves, and mockingbirds. Genovesa Island (Galápagos)

Genovesa Island is reached via the sheltered Darwin Bay. Spot the sea lions in the tidal pools behind the small beach which is filled with nesting areas for frigates, red-footed boobies, and swallow-tailed gulls. High tide usually covers the half mile walking trail from the white sand coral beach that winds through mangroves and leads to Prince Phillip's Steps - a rocky path which takes you to the top of a cliff face for magnificent views - look out for short-eared lava owls, Galapagos swallows and Galapagos doves.

North Seymour Island is a paradise for bird watchers, with large colonies of magnificent and great frigatebirds inflating their red throat pouches in an impressive courtship display. On the ground, blue-footed boobies perform their famous mating dance, while swallow-tailed gulls perch on cliffs overlooking the sea. Inland, land iguanas have thrived thanks to conservation efforts, while marine iguanas bask on the rocks near playful sea lions body surfing the waves. Swim alongside sea lions, sharks, turtles, rays, and tropical fish. If you're lucky, you might spot eels hiding among the rocks in this thriving marine ecosystem.
