Madeira is a volcanic and fertile island with a wonderful market square and excellent botanical gardens overlooking the ocean. Perhaps have tea in the famous Reid's Hotel or try tobogganing in a wicker basket down the steep cobbled streets.

La Palma

La Palma is also known as La Isla Bonita and is the most north westerly of the Canary Islands 137miles away from Tenerife with La Gomera in between. La Palma is the fifth largest of the eight Canary Islands.

The island features the second highest peak in the Canaries at 2,426 metres and the Cumbre Vieja volcano which last erupted in 2021 lasting for 85 days – it is currently dormant which makes for very interesting and recently changed landscape to see what impact this has made on the island and to its inhabitants.

Santa Cruz (Tenerife)

The capital of the island and gateway to Mount Teide or Puerto De La Cruz with popular Loro Park or the magnificent Lido pools.

Arrecife (Lanzarote)

A volcanic island with a sunny climate - great for sunbathing. Visit Haria -the valley of the thousand palms or the Timanfaya National Park with the Jameros Del Agua Cave and salt-water lagoon where you find a colony of white crabs unique to the island.
