Freedom of the Seas

Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas launched in June 2007 as the first ship in the trio Freedom class of ship which at 1112 feet long and 184 wide was a bigger version of the revolutionary 5 fleet voyager class of ship. At 154,407 tonnes this ship is among the larger cruise ships afloat carrying 3,634 passengers (double occupancy) over 15 passenger decks. She underwent a major $116 million amplification programme in 2020 when new features of the modern fleet were added such as Spashaway Bay, The Perfect Storm water slides, Clash for the Crystal City Laser tag; new restaurants, Bars and updated staterooms.

The Royal Promenade is a central avenue on board lined with bars, restaurants, shops and cafes. Look out for fabulous parade party events during each cruise.

Splashaway Bay is a new waterpark on board for kids only while the solarium is an adult only pool space with retractable glass roof and cantilevered whirlpools. The main pool area features a movie screen for alternative evening entertainment from the theatre, casino and nightclub. Of particular note is the Studio B Ice Rink for ice skating spectaculars and it also converts into a large entertainment space for dancing and laser tag. Try out the Flowrider surfing simulator or perhaps have a putt in the dunes putting course.

La Coruna

La Coruna is the capital of Galicia with lots of scenic and historic interest points. Visit the Tower or Hercules - the world's oldest functioning lighthouse - built by the Romans. Admire the coastal views from Monte San Pedro and have fun in the maze or visit Cabo Finistere (the end of the earth) and the western most point in Europe. Plaza de Maria Pita marks the historic centre of La Coruna featuring interesting architecture just a short walk from the cruise terminal.

Vigo

Vigo is a lively coastal city in north‑west Spain, set along the beautiful Galician coastline and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Known for its bustling port, historic old town and fresh seafood, Vigo blends maritime heritage with modern energy. The city is the gateway to the stunning Cíes Islands, famed for white‑sand beaches and clear waters. With scenic viewpoints, vibrant markets and a relaxed seaside atmosphere, Vigo offers an authentic taste of northern Spain.

Ponta Delgada (Azores)

Ponta Delgada is the capital of the largest island called San Miguel in a chain of nine volcanic islands stretching over 370 miles - situated 550 miles northwest of Madeira and 1196 miles southeast of Newfoundland. The Azores sit on the junction for the Eurasian , North American and African plates are home to some of the tallest mountains in the world when measured from their base on the ocean floor. The scenery is as diverse as the history with lots of volcanoes, calderas, craters, caves and lava fields; the rural beauty spot of Sete Citades is a must see as are the hot springs and botanical gardens in Furnes. The Azores were colonized by the Portugese in the mid 15th century and were captured by the Spanish from 1583 to 1642. The Azores became an important Allied air and naval base during World War II and were instrumental in the Battle of the Atlantic helping to protect Convoys from U-Boat attack. As a result the Military museum situated in a walled fortress is supremely fascinating.

The Tony Hotel South Beach

The award-winning The Hotel of South Beach is housed in a historic Art Déco building and is excellently situated between Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive. Lummus Park and the marvellous beach are just a few steps away; major attractions such as Lincoln Road Mall, New World Symphony or Jackie Gleason Theatre are within walking distance. In the surrounding area, countless splendid shops, boutiques, restaurants, bars and lively nightclubs can be found. The hotel was built in 1939, by master architect L. Murray Dixon, and it features a wonderful rooftop terrace with outdoor pool, panoramic ocean views and the Spire Bar & Lounge, set behind the historic Tiffany spire. The restaurant serves delicious Italian cuisine, and guests can work out in the fitness centre. Miami

Ocean Drive on Miami South Beach is the main beach drag in the heart of the neon-lit area lined with bars and restaurants where the tanned and toned rub shoulders with the diners, drinkers, sunbathers and swimmers. Perhaps have dinner in the Versace mansion, go shopping in one of the huge shopping malls of Miami such as Port Aventura Mall and Biscayne Bay; or simply relax on the beach.
