Seychelles
The Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 islands, lies in the western Indian Ocean, northeast of Madagascar and about 1,600 km east of mainland Africa, positioned between 4°–11°S just below the equator. Covering 446–459 km² of land across scattered granite and coral islands, it includes major islands like Mahé, Praslin and La Digue and neighbours the Mascarene region, with Madagascar, Mauritius and Réunion nearby.
Highlights include Vallée de Mai, home of the coco‑de‑mer, and Aldabra Atoll, the world’s largest raised coral atoll, both UNESCO sites. Visitors enjoy world‑class beaches, hiking, diving and unique wildlife. With a warm tropical climate year‑round, the best travel periods are April–May and October–November, when winds and rainfall are mild.
