JAPAN BY BULLET TRAIN
TOKYO, HIROSHIMA
& KYOTO
9 Nights
Visit this far eastern corner of the world where cultures,
customs, history and scenery collide in an explosion of colour and lifelong
memories. Japan is particularly in vogue where your stay would not be complete
without riding on a Bullet Train, bathing in a hot spring and admiring the snow
covered peak of Mount Fuji rising from lush green fields and rice paddies. Soak
up the buzz of Tokyo where futuristic James Bond-style buildings and
neon-lights are juxtaposed with ancient temples and soothing Japanese tea
gardens. Travel in the Springtime to bask in the glory of the cherry blossom
season, In the summer months festivals abound throughout this wonderful and
mysterious island chain or take in the incredible fall foliage.
After your stay In Tokyo experience the Japanese bullet
train (Shinkansen) to Hiroshima (via Kyoto) over 500 miles away where the speed
of the train reaches up to a thrilling 200 miles per hour.
Kyoto was the ancient capital of Japan until 1868. Visit
Nijo Castle constructed in 1603, enjoy quiet contemplation at the imposing
Todaiji Temple - Japan's largest wooden Buddhist temple and look out for tame
deer in beautiful Nara Park. Nothing is as symbolic of Kyoto as Kinkaku-ji's
golden reflection shimmering across the rippled surface of the pond before it.
The current gold leaf-coated reconstructed temple was unveiled in 1955, five
years after the 14th-century original was torched by one of the temple's monks.
It is set on the water amid a garden complex in Muromachi period garden design
- the most classical of Japanese gardens - a peaceful and relaxing way to end
your discovery of Japan.
Hiroshima is home to two world heritage sites Itsukushima
which is famous for the mysterious Itsukushima shrine standing in the Seto
inland sea and the Atomic Bomb dome, which is a monument for peace
